marissa (mars) salett (they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist. they primarily work as a painter, sculptor, and theater maker.

painting, sculpture, and theater-making have always been their go-to language for world-building, childlike character exploration, and absurd realism.

they've been drawn to art-making as an opportunity to revisit spaces from their childhood and understand their connection to said spaces through new perspectives. they do this by using references to publicly shared albums from communities they were once a part of, and through old family photos. their work is heavily influenced by critical race and gender theory, as well as the relationships that have molded them.

they graduated from Bard College in 2025 with a BA in Studio Arts and a minor in Theater and Performance. They currently reside in Queens, NY, and are an ATLien at heart. their work has been shown in group shows in NYC, Upstate NY, Germany, and Georgia.
in their spare time, they enjoy fiber arts, jewelry making, sketch writing/improv, and tattooing. they love collaboration and urge anyone interested to reach out!!!
